Job Description for Education Consultant/Counsellor
The primary function of an Education Consultant/Counsellor is to secure new business revenue and consistently meet/surpass activity and advancement targets. To accomplish this, s/he must handle inquiries, arrange appointments, conduct interviews, qualify and develop new prospects/opportunities including developing their needs, qualify and assist applicants to enrol in strategic career programs. In addition s/he will analyze specific opportunities and prepare proposals for new business through a disciplined application of the sales process, which may include: referral generation, career seminars, strategic planning, and execute marketing activities. S/he may work with existing clients on the development of new opportunities at the discretion of the Centre Manager.
Provide input into the admission and registration related processes to maximise efficiency.
Assist in the initiation, development and deployment of responsive plans that address issues related to current and future College processes, systems, policies and standard practices.
Keep abreast of admissions best practices to suggest changes that facilitate positive registration strategies.
Provide timely input on internal admissions policy, applicant related issues, applications and registration procedures.
Meet budget forecast as set by the Centre Manager.
Conduct admissions activities as per the business unit sales manual.
Provide counselling for all student inquiries including Employment Ontario & International inquiries.
Handle inbound inquiries.
Make outbound calls.
Contact all selected prospects (new / existing clients) to identify issues and assess needs.
Follow defined sales pipeline processes identifying issues and areas for improvement.
Prepare for and attend weekly sales meetings to report on performance, discuss pipeline improvements, resolve issues and improve on processes.
Update CRM database on all customer interactions completing all required fields including stage in pipeline.
"Reality Test" improved tactics in the sales pipeline reporting on successes and failures.
Identify new products and services to introduce to improve profitability and/or eliminate unprofitable products/services.
