WHAT IS FLEXLEARN™?

FlexLearn™ is a proven system of success in learning, that has been in place for 11 years at Canadian Career College. It allows students to progress through the courses at a comfortable, individualized pace.

HOW CAN FLEXLEARN™ BENEFIT ME?
With FlexLearn™, you can select the amount of hours per day that you attend school. You may attend as few as four, or as many as seven.

FlexLearn™ rewards include extra training time and instructor support.

FlexLearn™ allows students who require extra assistance the opportunity for one-on-one tutoring.

FlexLearn™ allows students who accelerate through the programs to take additional courses for free.

WHY DON'T OTHER SCHOOLS USE FLEXLEARN™?
Other schools are rigid with start dates and class times due to the structure of the course. Often classes at other schools need to be scheduled around instructor availability or start dates will be pushed back if enough students haven't enrolled. This is because the classes are set up for the masses and not individualized, as they are at Canadian Career College. The FlexLearn™ System allows you to select your start date - we are ready when you are.

STUDENT LIFE AT CANADIAN CAREER COLLEGE

"Change Your Skills … Change your world!"
That's our motto. We believe when it comes to changing skills "one size does not fit all." Our students and potential students are individuals with a wide range of transferable skills, aptitudes, experience and qualifications. Our role is to help you attain the skills needed to reach your new career objective. You should be very proud of yourself, for having the courage to take this next step in your life. It is not always easy to learn new skills, and we promise to do everything we can to ensure that your learning experience at Canadian Career College is a positive one.

One significant difference between Canadian Career College and other colleges is the way we teach. Some colleges believe instructor-led to be better whereas we do not. Some colleges consider self-paced a better method whereas we do not. We believe that no one way is the “right” way. We use different methods for different segments of the program.

During your program at Canadian Career College, you will experience the following teaching methods:
• Individualized pace with assistance from highly qualified instructors
• Instructor-led lectures and interactive small group discussions
• Individual coaching
• One-on-One and small group tutoring sessions

HOW WILL YOU BENEFIT FROM THIS TYPE OF TRAINING?
You will benefit from the way we teach at Canadian Career College if you fit into any of the following:

1. You learn by doing, not just listening.

At Canadian Career College, the skills you learn are hands-on. Practical tests and exercises that are similar to what you will encounter on the job have been designed to supplement the hands-on exercises which you will encounter throughout the manuals. These tests will enable you to apply your new skills and help build your confidence. That's the Canadian Career College difference.

2. You require additional time to learn and absorb.

At Canadian Career College, you learn at a pace that is comfortable for you. Qualified, experienced teachers work closely with you; they monitor your progress and guide you through your program. If you fall behind, you can take advantage of the extra training hours we provide our students at no additional charge. And, if you need more help, you can also participate in one-on-one or small group learning sessions which are also available at no additional charge.

In an instructor-led teaching system, everyone is expected to move at the same pace. The teacher moves forward whether you understand the material or not. The entire class cannot wait for those who need extra time to learn. At Canadian Career College, we use self-paced material and complement it with lectures and coaching sessions. We have found this variety gives students the best of both worlds and puts them in charge of their learning process, not the teacher.

3. Don't "re-learn" the things you already know.

Because the courses can be completed at a pace that is comfortable for you, you may use previous experience to accelerate through the material. At Canadian Career College, you don't have to wait for someone else to “get it.” You don't have to sit through classes reviewing material that you already know. Every moment of your learning time at Canadian Career College is productive.

The Diploma Programs at Canadian Career College are composed of a core curriculum along with a series of electives. Our programs enable you to build on existing skills, while developing new ones. That means that you can fulfill your diploma requirements quickly and take as many electives as you can complete during your enrollment. More skills = More job opportunities. And, at Canadian Career College, there is never a charge for taking electives. In fact, we encourage it.

4. You want to attend school around your family or job responsibilities.

At Canadian Career College, you can create a flexible schedule that fits into your outside commitments. If you are sick one day, there is plenty of opportunity to make up missed time. You don’t miss out on the subject matter like you would with an instructor-led program.

Canadian Career College is a good choice because:
• You can benefit from having a flexible schedule.
• You have physical challenges that require you to get up and move around frequently.
• You want to spend more than the minimum required hours training.

I studied at the college from June 2005 to May 2006 and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I completed the Financial Accounting and Payroll diploma course and I had plenty of time to do more electives which I believe was one of the reasons I secured a job as General Manager of a heating and electrical company. The course content was easy to follow and the instructors were very helpful. My experience at the college was excellent and I will always be indebted to Business Skills College.
